Wings Over the Roof of the World
The journey where the world reminds you how big it is – and how small your worries look from above the clouds.
all-inclusive no single supplement
There is a version of you who has always wanted to stand somewhere the air gets thin and the world gets quiet, who has looked at photographs of prayer flags strung across impossible ridgelines and felt something stir that she never quite named. Nepal has been calling to travellers like her for centuries, not because of what it promises, but because of what it asks: to slow down, to look up, and to feel small in the best possible way.
This six-day journey moves through a city that has survived earthquakes and empires without losing its soul, and a valley where monks still spin prayer wheels in courtyards their families have tended for generations.
It builds toward one unforgettable morning: breakfast at altitude, by private helicopter, with Everest itself filling the window in front of you. Between that flight and a sunrise over the Annapurna range from Sarangkot, the days move gently, with a private thangka-painting session led by women who have practised the craft for decades, a blessing in a monastery most travellers never enter, and evenings spent getting to know the women beside you over food that has fed this valley for generations.

Just 6 to 8 women, one host with you from arrival to departure
You are met at the airport by your host in person, with a private car already waiting, and within minutes you already feel welcomed rather than like a stranger in a new city. That evening, the group gathers for a welcome dinner in a private courtyard, where your first candid portraits are taken as everyone shares Nepali thali and local wine. There is no itinerary talk tonight, only an evening for the women in your group to get to know one another.
Your morning begins at Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site of ancient palaces and temples that was once home to Nepal’s royal family. From there, you climb up to Swayambhunath, the hilltop temple known as the Monkey Temple, where a panoramic view opens over the entire valley below. In the afternoon, you visit Boudhanath and Pashupatinath with a female guide, including a private monastery blessing arranged especially for your group. The day closes at a hidden thangka-painting studio run by a family of women artists, where you paint a small piece of your own to take home.
Before sunrise, a private helicopter lifts you over the Kathmandu valley toward the Everest region, and you land at altitude for a breakfast unlike any other, with Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam filling the sky in front of you and a cup of coffee warming your hands. The helicopter then makes a second landing near a remote Sherpa village, where you are welcomed for tea with local women, before flying you back to Kathmandu by early afternoon. THE WOW MOMENT
A short flight carries you to Pokhara, where you settle into Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge, overlooking the Annapurna range and the still waters of Phewa Lake. In the afternoon, a boat ride takes you across the lake to its island temple, and as the sun begins to set, you make your way to the World Peace Pagoda, where the mountains slowly turn a soft shade of pink behind you.
Before dawn, a private drive takes you up to Sarangkot for sunrise over the Annapurna range, one of the most photographed views in the world, as the mountains shift slowly from gold to white to a soft blue. Back at the lodge, the rest of the day is set aside for rest and connection, with Himalayan spa rituals, a private cooking class with local women, and a lakeside farewell dinner accompanied by folk music. Before you leave Pokhara, you are gifted a keepsake box containing a printed portrait from your helicopter morning and a pashmina woven in the foothills you have just come down from.
A short flight carries you back to Kathmandu in time for your onward connections. If you are not yet ready to leave the mountains, an optional two-night extension into the Chitwan jungle can be arranged for you.

This journey is hosted personally by Shivangi, Vyoma’s founder. Travel, for her, is a form of meditation — presence, gratitude, and the joy of simply being — and that’s the spirit she brings to every journey, travelling alongside you as a fellow traveller from arrival to farewell.
Dwarika’s Hotel is less a hotel than a living museum. Every corridor is lined with genuine Newari woodcarvings rescued from demolished buildings across the Kathmandu Valley, some of them centuries old. It sits quietly in the middle of the city, and stepping through its gates feels like stepping back in time, long before you’ve even reached your room.
No trekking is required, since the helicopter does the climbing for you. You'll be standing at altitude for a short time, so a reasonable level of everyday fitness is all you need.
Mountain weather can be unpredictable, so a buffer is built into the schedule and the flight is rescheduled if needed. Your host manages this for you, so there's nothing for you to arrange.
Most nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival in Kathmandu. We'll send you complete, personalised guidance well before your departure date.
Yes, and most of our guests do exactly that. This is exactly who Vyoma is built for, and it's usually where the closest friendships of the trip begin.
